Mona Shahi’s animated piece grabbed the Bronze Statue of the Short Film Section of the 12th edition of the event.
“The Darkness Demon has swept over the world, trying to set the ending of Light unlike the earlier promises and prophecies.
It is in such an era that a flock of red birds travel in search of the Red Fire; a Fire that according to the prophecies, wipes out the blackness and puts an end to the constant eclipse and absence of the Sun. But where are they going to find the Red Fire?”, a synopsis for the film reads.
The short film has already participated in a number of global events, including the Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan, the Spark Animation festival in Canada, and the Tehran International Animation Festival in Iran.
The 12th edition of the festival was planned for March 2022; however, due to coronavirus outbreak it was postponed.
The TIAF is a biennial event organized by Iran’s Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.
This year’s edition of the event took place on May 29 – June 2.
